The present contempt petition has been filed for deliberate and intentional disobedience of order dated 18.05.2023 passed by this Court in CWP-18584-2021.

This Court had issued the following directions in CWP-185842021, vide its order dated 18.05.2023:- "8.

In view of above, all the writ petitions are disposed off. The personnel who have been promoted with retrospective effect are held entitled for arrears of the promotional post from the day they have been promoted

-2as the principle of 'No Work No Pay' is not applicable keeping in view the admitted case that the promotion does not alter the nature of duties performed by Dog Handler.

Further respondents are directed to consider the case of other personnel who have passed the Dog Handler Course in accordance with the decision already taken vide Annexure P-6 within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order." 3.

In compliance of the order dated 18.05.2023 passed by this Court in CWP-18584-2021, reply by way of short affidavit dated 04.12.2023 of Mr. Gaurav Yadav, IPS, Director General of Police, Punjab, along with Annexures R-1 & R-2, has been filed on behalf of respondents before the Registry. The same is taken on record.

A perusal of the reply shows that in compliance of order dated 18.05.2023 passed by this Court in CWP-18584-2021, a speaking order dated 19.07.2023 (Annexure R-1) has been passed by the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Personnel-I, Punjab and a letter dated 20.11.2023 has been issued by the Superintendent E-I, O/o the Director General of Police, Punjab.

In view of the above, since order dated 18.05.2023 passed by this Court in CWP-18584-2021 has been complied with, therefore, the present contempt is purged and rule stands discharged.

Needless to say that the petitioner is at liberty to avail remedy as is available to him in accordance with law to challenge the speaking order dated 19.07.2023 (Annexure R-1) passed by the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Personnel-I, Punjab, and the letter dated 20.11.2023 issued by the Superintendent E-I, O/o the Director General of Police, Punjab. 7.
