*** MANOJ BAJAJ, J. (Oral) Petitioner has filed this petition under Section 439 Cr.P.C for grant of regular bail pending trial in case FIR No.164 dated 30.10.2018, registered under Section 22 (Notification No.61) of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 at Police Station Kabarwala, District Sri Muktsar Sahib. The petitioner is in custody since his arrest on 30.10.2018. Learned State counsel, on instructions from ASI Sukhdayal Singh, states that in the trial, only one prosecution witness remains to be examined and the case is coming up before the trial Court on 02.03.2023 for recording prosecution evidence. She further states that the petitioner is also involved in one more case.

Considering the above background, particularly the advanced stage of trial, no case is made out for grant of regular bail to the petitioner. Dismissed.
