(Oral) The petitioners have approached this Court seeking issuance of directions to the official respondents to protect their lives and liberty as they apprehend threat to the same at the hands of private respondents, who are relatives of petitioner No.1, who do not approve of the live-in relationship of the petitioners.

Learned counsel for the petitioners has submitted that the petitioners are fond of each other and are major and are in a live-in relationship, but somehow the private respondents do not approve of their relationship. It has further been submitted that although the petitioners moved a representation dated 3.11.2021 (Annexure P-3) to Senior Superintendent of Police, District Fazilka (respondent No.2) but to no avail. Having heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and without commenting anything as regards the veracity of the averments made in the petition or as regards the relationship of the petitioners, the petition is MOHAN SINGH 2021.11.12 16:28 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

- 2 - CRWP-10690-2021 (O&M) disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 i.e. Senior Superintendent of Police, District Fazilka, to look into the matter and to dispose of the representation dated 3.11.2021 (Annexure P-3) in accordance with law. In case, it is found that there is a genuine threat to lives and liberty of the petitioners at the hands of respondents No.4 to 7, then necessary steps warranted under law be taken thereupon at the earliest so as to ensure that no harm is caused to the petitioners.

A copy of this order alongwith copy of the representation dated3.11.2021 be sent to Senior Superintendent of Police, District Fazilka (respondent No.2), so as to enable him to do the needful expeditiously.
