The present petition has been filed for quashing the order dated 09.01.2017 vide which the claim of the petitioner for revising the seniority was rejected and for grant of promotion to the post of Senior Assistant. 2.
Learned counsel would contend that the petitioner was appointed to the post of Steno-typist on 01.08.1979 and qualified the Senior Assistant Grade examination on 30.11.1997 along with one Jaswinder Kaur, who was though appointed subsequent to him on 24.06.1985, on having filed CWP-14665-2014, seeking promotion to promote her to the post of Senior Assistant from the date, juniors to her namely Nirmal Kanta and Sukhmander Singh were promoted, was allowed vide order dated 13.03.2018, which stands implemented.

He is entitled to the same relief, in terms of the aforesaid judgment, to re-examine the same, time had been granted to learned State counsel on 02.09.2022, he on instructions submits that the petitioner would be satisfied, in case a time bound direction be given to the respondents to decide the claim of the petitioner, keeping in view the aforesaid facts by granting him an opportunity of hearing. MOHIT 2024.05.

Learned State counsel has no objection to the limited prayer made. 4.
In view of the above and without commenting on the merits of the case, this petition is hereby disposed of with a direction to the respondents to consider and decide the claim of the petitioner, in light of the afore-referred judgment, within a period of 6 months, which this Court has no reason to believe the authorities would not address in a just, fair and reasonable manner. Upon doing so, after notice and hearing offered to him and if found entitled, grant the benefit forthwith. Needless to say, if the orders are adverse to his interest, the same shall contain reasons and the petitioner shall be free to seek legal redress thereupon
