In deference to the order passed on 26.11.2021, Mr. Rahul Bhandari, Secretary, Department of Rural Development and Panchayats, Punjab, is present in the Court, along with Mr. P.S.Phoolka, Director, Department of Rural Development and Panchayats, Punjab. They have stated that the impugned notices dated 24.12.2018 and 23.01.2019 have been withdrawn. They assure the Court that in the future, the officer(s) of the department shall strictly follow the procedure as prescribed under Section 216 of the Punjab Panchayati Raj Act, 1994.
