***** JASPAL SINGH, J Through instant petition preferred under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India, petitioner has sought issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to count the daily wage service as qualifying service for the purpose of pensionary/retiral benefits with a further prayer that the petitioner be entitled pensionary benefits along with interest @ 18% per annum as per old GPF Scheme, which was applicable to the employees recruited in Punjab Govt. Service prior to 01.01.2004. 2.
At the very outset of the arguments, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that though representation dated 23.12.2017 (Annexure P-12) was moved to the respondents but till date no action has been taken by the respondents. Without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, the instant petition is disposed of with the direction to respondent No.2-Director General of Police, Punjab Police Head Quarter, Sector 9, Chandigarh to look into the grievances unfolded by the petitioner in representation dated 23.12.2017 (Annexure P-12) and to decide the same in accordance with law, within a period of four months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.

However, if the petitioner still feels dissatisfied against the order passed by the concerned authority, he shall be at liberty to have recourse to the other remedies available under law as well as to approach this Court.
