The present petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India has been filed for issuing a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to consider the case of the petitioner for appointment on compassionate ground.

Learned counsel for the petitioner would contend that a representation in this regard dated 04.03.2021 (Annexure P-3) has been sent to the authorities including the Executive Engineer, Punjab State Power Corporation Limited, however, till date, no decision has been taken qua the same. Learned counsel further contends that at this stage the petitioner would be satisfied if a direction is given to the respondent authorities to decide the said representation dated 04.03.2021 (Annexure P3) in a time-bound manner. Heard.

CWP No.23085 of 2021 -2In view of the limited prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioner and keeping in view the fact that the matter is not being decided on merits, the service of notices upon the respondents is dispensed with at this stage.

Without commenting on the merits of the case, the present writ petition is disposed off with a direction to the respondents to take a decision on the representation dated 04.03.2021 (Annexure P-3) in accordance with law expeditiously and, in any case, within a period of three months from the receipt of a certified copy of this order. Disposed off accordingly.
