The present petition has been filed for issuance of directions to the official respondents for their inaction in conducting the preliminary inquiry into the complaint filed by the petitioner. The learned State counsel, on instructions from SP (Headquarters) Harbant Kaur, states that the preliminary inquiry would be completed within a period of one week from today. In view of the statement made by the learned counsel for the State, the learned counsel for the petitioner does not wish to press the present petition at this stage.

The petition is accordingly dismissed as not pressed at this stage.
