Prayer in the instant petition filed under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India, is for issuance of directions to respondents No.2 and 3 to protect the life, liberty and property of the petitioner at the hands of private respondents.

Learned State counsel has placed on record status report by way of an affidavit of Sh.Maninder Pal Singh, PPS Assistant Commissioner of Police, North, Amritsar on behalf of respondents No.1 to 3 in Court today and at the outset drawn the attention of this Court to paragraph 6 thereof. It has been submitted by learned State counsel that there is some property dispute between the petitioner and his own son i.e. respondent No.4-Sunil Kumar; respondent No.4-Sunil Kumar is not even a resident of India but is based in Australia. CRWP-8249-2023 -2the learned State counsel that an enquiry was conducted by the official respondents and no such threat perception, as alleged, had come to light. Learned State counsel has also drawn the attention of this Court to paragraph 5 wherein it stands detailed that in fact the petitioner and the private respondents had been making complaints against each other, and on enquiry since no substance was found in the complaints other than there being a civil dispute between the parties, the said complaints were consigned to the record room.

In the wake of the affidavit filed, learned counsel for the petitioner does not press the instant petition. 4.

Dismissed as not pressed.
