The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondents to correct father's name in her passport.

Learned counsel for the petitioner inter alia contends that in the passport of the petitioner, name of the father has been recorded as 'Jatinder Kumar' whereas correct name is 'Jitender Kumar'. In all the documents of the petitioner, name of father is Jitender Kumar, thus, she is facing difficulty in getting permanent residency in Canada. 3.

Ms. Monica Chawla, counsel for Union of India, who on advance notice is present in court, assures the court that competent authority would look into grievance of the petitioner and pass an appropriate order, in accordance with law, within four weeks from today.

In the wake of statement of learned counsel for Union of India, petition stands disposed of.
