Through this petition, the petitioner seeks interim regular bail in case bearing FIR No.55 dated 17.03.2021, registered at Police Station Gobindgarh Mandi, District Fatehgarh Sahib, under Section 18(c ) and 25 NDPS Act, for a period of four weeks, on account of his medical ailments. Vide order dated 16.11.2021 passed by a Coordinate Bench, the State was directed to submit a report as regard the assertions made in the petition pertaining to the medical ailments of the petitioner. In deference to the said order dated 16.11.2021, short reply dated 24.11.2021, by way of affidavit of the Superintendent, Central Jail, Ludhiana, has been filed through e-mail. Print out of the same is taken on record. A perusal of the same would reveal that the jail authorities sought a medical health status report of the petitioner from the Medical Officer,

  who had reported as under:

"It is submitted that as per record UT Gurmail Singh S/o Bant Singh, 46/Male is a known case of Diabetes Mellitus and Bronchial Asthma with heart Problem. He was presented to Jail Hospital on 15.06.2021 with history of his above mentioned ailment for which he was given treatment at Jail Hospital. Later, he was admitted in Jail Hospital on 31.07.2021 with history of breathlessness, chest pain and increasing blood sugar level. He was referred to Civil Hospital, Ludhiana, on 09.07.2021, 17.07.2021, 07.08.2021, 17.08.2021. 02.09.2021, 07.09.2021 for his complaints of breathing difficulty, chest pain and rising sugar level. Patient was investigated and was given treatment at Civil Hospital Ludhiana each time. On 07.09.2021, he was investigated with 2D ECHO cardiography and ECG. His 2D ECHO report shows left ventricular ejection fraction of 39% with grade 2 diastolic dysfunction with mitral, tricuspid and aortic regurgitation with basal and mid septum hypokinesia. His ECG shows slight ST depression and possible inferior wall myocardial infarction dated 07.09.2021.

He is admitted in Jail Hospital since 31.07.2021 and is taking treatment as advised by Civil Hospital, Ludhiana and has suffered a few episodes of very high and very low blood sugar level and chest discomfort despite of his ongoing treatment. Patient is being referred to higher center time to time for follow up and treatment. This is for your kind information."

I have heard the learned counsel for the parties. The petitioner having complaints of breathing difficulty, chest

! pain and increasing blood sugar level, was referred to the Civil Hospital, Ludhiana, on 09.07.2021, 17.07.2021, 07.08.2021, 17.08.2021. 02.09.2021, 07.09.2021. A perusal of the status report would show that the jail hospital and the doctor posted there are taking due care of the petitioner and also getting him examined from the doctor at Civil Hosptial, Ludhiana, from time to time.

In view of the above, I do not find any merit in the present petition.
