The petitioners are the retired Associate Professors/Principals. After having attained the age of superannuation, they were permitted to work as Extension Lecturers on contract, in different colleges of the State Government. Now a decision has been taken not to permit them to work beyond the age of 62 years as extension lecturers. The petitioners claim that they have right to continue as such till the age of 65 years. Learned counsel, for the petitioner failed to draw the attention of the Court to any statute entitling the Extension Lecturers, who were employed on contact basis after their superannuation, to continue upto the age of 65 years. The decision of the Government is a policy decision.

In exercise of jurisdiction of judicial review, such decision can not be interfered with by the Court unless it is found to be arbitrary or suffering from perversity. The petitioners have sought a writ in the nature of mandamus. In the absence of right in favour of the writ petitioner with a DEEPAK KUMAR BHARDWAJ 2021.01.

Civil Writ Petition No. 22324 of 2020 can be issued.. Hence, no ground is made out, to issue the writ, as prayed for. Dismissed.
