HARINDER SINGH SIDHU, J The petitioner had filed a writ petition bearing CWP-13492 of 2020 seeking a writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to release the due payment of the petitioner as mentioned in the head note of the petition, which was disposed of by this Court on 09.09.2020 with a direction to the respondents to examine the claim of the petitioner as detailed in the legal notice and take a decision thereon.

A reply on behalf of the respondent- State of Punjab has been filed in which it has been stated that a speaking order in respect of the claim of the petitioner has been passed on 18.12.2020. The amount due to the petitioner has been calculated at Rs. 58,80,000/-. Out of the said amount, a sum of Rs. 30,00,000/- was released to the petitioner whereas remaining amount of Rs. 20,80,000/- has been sent to the Treasury also for making payment to the petitioner.

In view thereof, present petition is disposed of as having become infructuous.

Needless to say, it would be open to the petitioner to avail of any appropriate remedy, in accordance with law, if still aggrieved.
