Present writ petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution, inter alia, for quashing the Notification dated 09.10.2018 (P6), envisaging that previous service of the petitioners as Principal in Adarsh / Model Schools, run under Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan and Rashitriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan Authority, shall not be counted towards their seniority in the Cadre of Principal, in pursuance to their regularization in Education Department w.e.f. 01.04.2018.

At the outset, learned counsel, on instructions from petitioners submits that instead of pressing the present petition on merits, his clients would be satisfied in case the Legal Notice dated 19.07.2022 (P-15) is decided expeditiously.

On asking of the Court, Ms. Lavanya Paul, Deputy Advocate General, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the respondent-State and raises no objection against the innocuous prayer of the petitioner(s). CWP No. 21919 of 2022 (O&M) -2In view of the above, but without expressing any opinion on merits of the claim of petitioner(s), this writ petition is disposed off with direction to the competent authority to consider and decide the aforesaid Legal Notice dated 19.07.2022 (P-15), as per law, within two (02) months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order. Needless to say that in case there is a failure on the part of competent authority, petitioners would be at liberty to move an appropriate application for revival of this writ petition.
