This petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing respondents No. 2 and 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners from the hands of respondents No. 4 and 5.

Reply by way of affidavit of Superintendent of Police, Sub Divisional Phillaur, District Jalandhar (Rural) has been filed through e-mail. Copy of the same is taken on record.

In compliance of the order dated 06.1.2021, passed by this Court, statement of petitioner No. 1-Jyoti has been recorded where she stated that she has been living with petitioner No. 2-Manminder Kumar in a live-in relationship and she does not want to take action against anyone.
