The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondents to re-issue her passport.

Learned counsel for the petitioner inter alia contends that date of birth of the petitioner in the original passport was recorded 06.02.1980 whereas her correct date of birth is 02.06.1980. The petitioner has applied for re-issuance of passport and in the said application, petitioner has requested for correction of date of birth.

Learned counsel for Union of India submits that petitioner vide communication dated 12.09.2023 has been directed to appear before the passport authority. If petitioner appears, the competent authority would pass an appropriate order within six weeks thereafter. Learned counsel for the petitioner agrees to the aforesaid arrangement.

In the wake of statements of both sides, the petitioner is directed to appear before the passport authority on 29.09.2023 at 11.00 a.m. On doing so, the competent authority would pass an appropriate order with six weeks from 29.09.2023.

The petition stands disposed of.
