The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondents to re-issue her passport.

The petitioner was issued passport on 25.06.2008 and thereafter re-issued on 17.04.2018. In the passport, date of birth of the petitioner is recorded as 12.06.1972 whereas as per petitioner correct date of birth is 09.04.1969.

Learned counsel for the petitioner inter alia contends that respondent authorities may be directed to re-issue passport with correct date of birth.

Learned counsel for Union of India submits that date of birth of the petitioner was recorded in the passport on the basis of affidavit, however, PARAMJIT KAUR SAINI 2023.11.02 17:17 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment

CWP No.18458 of 2023 -2- 2023:PHHC:139404 passport authority would reconsider date of birth of the petitioner in view of the birth certificate furnished by the petitioner. 5.

In the wake of statement of learned counsel for Union of India, the petition stands disposed of with a direction to passport authority to decide application of the petitioner within six weeks from today.
