The petitioners are Vocational Lecturers having qualification of degrees in Engineering/post-graduation. Their grievance is against provisions of the Punjab Educational Service (School and Inspection) Group A Service Rules, 2004 to the extent of non-prescription of any academic qualification for the post of Principal, as a result of which Vocational Masters/Mistresses, having academic qualification of Matric with Diploma only, are also eligible for promotion to the post of Principal which is stated to be detrimental to the interest of the qualified persons like petitioners who are possessing degrees in Engineering/Post Graduation academic qualification.

CWP-8793-2017 -2situation needs to draw attention of the authorities at the earliest. Learned counsel, thus, seeks to withdraw the writ petition with liberty to submit a representation to the Competent Authority.
