RAJESH BHARDWAJ, J.(ORAL) Instant writ petition has been filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of writ in the nature of mandamus directing respondents No.1 to 7 to take action against respondent No.8 as he has embezzled the Panchayat funds with the connivance of Gram Panchayat Officers. It is further prayed that respondents No.1 to 7 be also directed to take action on the representations given by the petitioner from time to time to different authorities.
It has been contended by counsel for the petitioner that representation, Annexure P-7, was filed by the petitioner before respondent No.2 on 17.03.2023 but no decision has been taken on the same till date. Notice of motion to official respondents only at this stage. On asking of the Court, Ms.Akshita Chauhan, Deputy Advocate General, Punjab, who is present in Court, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents/State.
After hearing counsel for the parties and going through the facts MEENU 2023.08.28 17:24 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this order/judgment
CWP-18914-2023 -2and circumstances of the case, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2, i.e. Director, Department of Rural Development and Panchayats, Punjab, District SAS Nagar (Mohali), Punjab, to decide the representation, dated 17.03.2023, Annexure P-7 expeditiously in accordance with law preferably within one month from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.
