ALKA SARIN, J. (ORAL) Heard through video conferencing.

The prayer in the present criminal writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India is for issuance of an appropriate writ, direction or order directing respondent Nos.1 to 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner at the hands of respondent Nos.4 and 5. Learned counsel for the petitioner would contend that the petitioner is continuously being harassed by respondent Nos.4 and 5 since they owe money to the petitioner. It is further the contention that the petitioner is being threatened and pressurized as the said respondents do not want to return the money that they owe to the petitioner. The petitioner apprehends threat to his life and liberty from respondent Nos.4 and 5. In this regard the petitioner has given a representation dated 04.12.2020 to the Inspector General of Police, Hisar Range. However, no action has been taken on the same.

CRWP-10804-2020 (O&M) -2On the asking of Court, Mr. Naveen Singh Panwar, DAG, Haryana has put in appearance on behalf of the respondent-State through video conferencing and accepts notice. Since the matter is not being decided on merits, the service on the other respondents is dispensed with, at this stage.

In view of the apprehension expressed by the petitioner in his petition, the present petition is disposed off with a direction to respondent No.3 - Superintendent of Police, Sirsa - to decide the representation dated 04.12.2020 (Annexure P-1) in accordance with law. It is, however, made clear that the present order shall not stand in the way or effect any criminal proceedings pending against the petitioner.
