Petitioner stands retired from the rank of Tehsil Welfare Officer, Directorate of Scheduled Castes, Backward Classes and Minorities Classes Welfare Department,Punjab. He has laid challenge to the action of respondents whereby extension in service under the Optional Extension Policy dated 30.4.2015 (P-1) has not been granted to him. Upon notice, an affidavit has been filed by the Director, Scheduled Castes, Backward Classes and Minorities Classes Welfare Department,Punjab. In the reply it is stated that a sting operation had been conducted on 30.9.2017 wherein there were allegations of petitioner having accepted a bribe of Rs.50,000/-. The matter was under investigation and hence in terms of the instructions P-1 supplemented by the subsequent instructions dated 7.5.2018 (R-1), which provide that even if preliminary enquiry is pending against official which does not amount to corruption, no RAJINDER PARSHAD JOSHI 2018.11.29 16:50 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document
