(ORAL) The petitioner after her divorce on 01.07.2014 performed her second marriage with Gurnam Singh on 08.10.2014, who died in harness on 20.11.2016 while working as Clerk with the Transport Commissioner, Punjab. Gurnam Singh prior to his marriage with the petitioner was twice divorced as per the report dated 11.05.2017 (P-2) submitted by the DC Amritsar, and has left behind no other legal heir except the widowed mother and widowed wife-petitioner. CWP-6318-2018 (O&M) insisting upon furnishing of divorce decrees of Gurnam Singh before considering the case of petitioner for compassionate appointment. On the last date of hearing, notice of motion was issued considering the contention of the petitioner that the documents asked for are not in possession of the petitioner and in the light of the report of the Deputy Commissioner, would no longer be required. At the time of resumed hearing today, counsel for the respondents has placed on record appointment letter dated 19.12.2018 (in vernacular) issued to the petitioner and concedes that nothing more survives in the instant writ petition and the same has become infructuous. Dismissed as having rendered infructuous.
