(ORAL ) The present petition has been filed seeking initiation of contempt proceedings against the respondent for not complying with the order dated 23.11.2020 passed by this Court in CRWP-9344-2020 titled as Dangal Singh Vs. State of Punjab and others (Annexure P-1). Learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that vide order dated 23.11.2020, respondent no.2 was directed by a Coordinate Bench of this Court to decide the representation dated 17.10.2020, (Annexure P4), of the petitioner within a period of two weeks from the date RAJ KUMAR ARORA 2021.01.01 19:12 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

COCP-2923-2020 (O&M) of receipt of the certified copy of this order, in accordance with law. He has further submitted that the said representation has not been decided till date and therefore, the petitioner has filed the present petition. Notice of motion.

Mr.T.P.S.Chawla, DAG, Punjab, has caused appearance on behalf of respondent and on instructions from Mr.Paramdeep Singh Sandhu, AIG (Security), Punjab, has submitted that in pursuance of order dated 23.11.2020, the threat perception to the petitioner was assessed and even the statement of the petitioner was also recorded in this regard and thereafter, the Additional Director General of Police, Punjab, had also passed an order dated 15.12.2020 in pursuance of the directions issued by this Court. He has submitted that a copy of the said order shall be supplied to the petitioner in due course. He has further submitted that even a copy of the said order was supplied to the learned counsel for the petitioner today itself on whatsapp group.

In view of above, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that he does not press the present petition and therefore, no further proceedings are called for in the present case. Consequently, the present petition is dismissed.
