**** RAJ MOHAN SINGH, J.(Oral) Petitioner has preferred this petition for the issuance of an appropriate writ, order or direction especially in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to pay the due amount of Rs.3,78,000/- qua the works done by the petitioner along with interest.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner is a Government Contractor and has executed various works assignments allocated to him by the respondents from time to time. On 24.09.2015, respondent No.4-Corporation floated a tender and the petitioner was successful bidder. Qua four work assignments, bids given by the petitioner were

approved and thereafter the petitioner successfully completed the works, but the payments thereof have not been released so far.

Precisely for the grievance in question, the petitioner has already approached the respondents by filing numerous representations till 28.10.2021 i.e. Annexures P-2 to P-8. Notice of motion.

On asking of the Court, Mr. T.P.S. Chawla, D.A.G., Punjab. accepts notice on behalf of respondents No.1 and 2. In view of nature of order which this Court proposes to pass, there is no necessity of serving respondents No.3 to 5 or calling upon any response from them as no order prejudicial to their interests is being passed.

At this stage without meaning anything on merits of the case, I deem it appropriate to direct respondent No.3/Municipal Corporation, Amritsar through its Commissioner to take note of the pending representations (Annexures P-2 to P-8) and decide the same within a period of one month from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order. In case the entitlement of the petitioner is established with reference to the material on record, then the amount in question be paid to the petitioner forthwith. In case, the amount is still not paid, then the petitioner would be entitled to the interest @ 6% per annum for the delayed payment from the date the amount became due till final

realisation of the same.

With the aforesaid direction, petition stands disposed of.
