1. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is having some kind of matrimonial discord with his wife i.e. respondent No.4 and that now at the instance of respondent No.4 the petitioner is being called to the police station repeatedly and is being made to sit there the entire day. Learned counsel further submits that although he had submitted a representation dated 07.08.2024 (Annexure P-2) to DGP, Punjab as well as to respondent No.2Senior Superintendent of Police, District Amritsar Rural, but to no avail.

2. Having heard the learned counsel for the petitioner, but without commenting anything as regards the veracity of the averments made in the petition, the same is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, District Amritsar Rural, that in case the petitioner is required to be associated with any inquiry or any information is required to be elicited from him or any of his statement is to be recorded in connection MOHAN SINGH 2024.08.21 17:45 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document Punjab and Haryana High Court, Chandigarh

CRWP-7975-2024 (O&M) ( 2 ) with any dispute arising out of the matrimonial discord, then it be ensured that the petitioner is not made to sit in the police station for the entire day.

2. A copy of this order along with copy of representation dated 07.08.2024 (Annexure P-2) be sent to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, District Amritsar Rural, for necessary compliance.

3. It is however, made clear that the aforesaid direction is not to be construed as any kind of protection, in case it is found that the petitioner has committed any wrong.
