Present petition has been filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, inter alia, seeking issuance of a writ in the nature of Mandamus for directing the respondents to protect the seat under Scheduled Caste Category in village Ikolaha, District Ludhiana and for issuance of a writ in the nature of Certiorari to quash order dated 25.1.2024 (Annexure P8) passed by respondent No.7 in a time bound manner, as the general elections are likely to be held in September/ October 2024.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that he may be given liberty to file representation before respondents No.6 and 7 who shall decide the same in a time bound manner.

learned State counsel appears and opposes issuance of notice of motion. He submits that grievance of the petitioner will be looked into by concerned authority and it shall take decision either way, on any representation to be moved by the petitioner.

4. Given the nature of order being passed, there is no necessity to seek reply by any of the respondents as no further proceedings and/or pleadings are required.

5. Without commenting on merits of the case, the petition is disposed of with liberty to the petitioner to file representation before respondents No.6 and 7 who shall consider the same and pass an appropriate reasoned order, in accordance with law, preferably within a period of 03 weeks from the date of receipt of copy/ production of this order.
