RAJESH BHARDWAJ, J.(ORAL) Present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of direction to respondents No.1 to 3 for protection of life and liberty of the petitioner and his family members at the hands of respondents No.4 to 7 and further directing respondents No.2 to 3 for getting conducted free and fair investigation, regarding threatening, extortion and blackmailing by respondents No.4 to 7 to the petitioner and his family members and for taking strict legal action against private respondents No.4 to 7. It is further prayed to issue direction to respondents No.2 and 3 to take appropriate strict legal action upon the representation, dated 02.08.2024, Annexure P-2, sent by the petitioner and decide the same expeditiously and efficaciously.

Without entering upon an exercise to evaluate the evidentiary value of the documents placed on the file, I dispose of the petition with a direction to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Sri Muktsar Sahib, District Sri Muktsar Sahib (Punjab), to look into the representation and decide the same expeditiously preferably within a period of one month from today and grant him protection, if any threat to his life and liberty is perceived. It is clarified that this order shall not be taken to grant immunity to the petitioner from legal action for violation of law, if any, committed by him.
