(ORAL) The petitioner herein is claiming the benefit available under the Freedom Fighter quota in terms of the Punjab instructions dated 04.04.1985 (Annexure P-1) wherein a decision had been taken to grant re-employment to a freedom fighter in the State service after the age of 60 years. It is further contended that the petitioner would be entitled to the benefit in terms of the judgment rendered by this Court in CWP No. 12476 of 2011 titled Amrit Kaur Bedi vs. State of Punjab and others decided on 27.10.2010 subsequently followed in CWP No. 16587 of 2015 titled Jagdish Kaur vs. State of Punjab and others, decided on 12.01.2017. It is contended that a representation in this regard is still pending consideration. At the present moment, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner limits his prayer to an early consideration and decision of the representation dated 24.01.2017 (Annexure P-9).

I have heard learned counsel for the petitioner and without going into the merits of the case, this petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to decide the the representation dated 24.01.2017 (Annexure P-9) of the petitioners, by passing a speaking order in Satyawan 2017.05.09 13:48 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document High Court Chandigarh
