The present petition has been filed seeking protection of life and liberty of the petitioners, at the hands of private respondents. 2.

Vide order dated 24.08.2023, it was made clear that, in case, it is found that there is no threat perception to the petitioners, they will be burdened with exemplary cost.

Subsequently, an application was filed for withdrawal of the main case and vide order dated 22.09.2023, learned counsel for the petitioners accepting the position prayed for a short accommodation to seek

instructions qua the quantum of cost to be imposed on the applicantpetitioners. 4.

Learned State counsel has also filed the status report by way of affidavit of Mr. Gursharandeep Singh Grewal, PPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, District Malerkotla, on behalf of respondents No. 1 to 3 in Court today, in which the petitioners have submitted that they have no danger from any of the respondents mentioned in the petition. 5.

Learned State counsel has submitted that there is typographical error in the reply as at one place, the petitioner No. 1 is named as wife of Simratpal Singh (petitioner No.2), whereas, the petitioners are living in live-in relationship.

Interestingly, this Court had issue notice of motion on 24.08.2023 but thereafter, the petitioners did not even file the process fee and nobody came forward to collect the dasti notices. 7.

Apparently, it is a clear cut case of misuse and abuse of process of law and these kind of flimsy petitions are being filed without any sense of responsibility.

Accordingly, since, the petitioner No. 2 has admitted himself to be earning handsomely and employed in a private company, it is a fit case to impose exemplary cost on the petitioners for approaching the Court without any sense of responsibility.

In light of the above, the present petition stands dismissed with a cost of Rs. 15,000/- to be deposited by the petitioners within one month from today in the following account:
