***** Rakesh Kumar Jain, J. (Oral) The petitioner is a regular student of B.A.LL.B. in Regional Campus, Gurdaspur of the Guru Nanak Dev University (hereinafter referred to as the "University"). He has allegedly cleared all the papers except for the subject of Criminal Procedure Code of 9th semester, as a result of which his result of 10th semester has not been declared. He has prayed for the issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus, directing the respondents to grant him one special chance to clear the 9th semester examination of Criminal Procedure Code.

At the same time, it is not disputed by the petitioner that he has already failed in all the three permissible chances. Therefore, in my considered opinion, there is no error in the order passed by the University dated 08.11.2016, declining the prayer of the petitioner for grant of special chance to appear in the 9th semester examination because Ordinance 6 of the Bachelor of Laws (Five Years Integrated Course) contained in the University Calendar, Vol.II, 2008 provides three chances to clear the semester and in this case, it is not disputed by the petitioner that he had already availed all the three chances and is praying for a special chance, which cannot be granted to him under the aforesaid Ordinance. In view of the above, I do not find any merit in the present writ petition and hence, the same is hereby dismissed. May 08, 2017 (Rakesh Kumar Jain) vinod* Judge
