The petitioner has approached this Court seeking grant of regular bail in respect of a case registered against him vide FIR No. 28, dated 10.1.2019, Police Station Civil Lines, Karnal, under Sections 120-B, 379-B, 384, 406, 420, 506 IPC.

The FIR in question was lodged at the instance of Shamsher Singh wherein it is alleged that he had been duped of an amount of Rs.10 lakhs in cash apart from having been deprived of a car. MOHAN SINGH 2021.10.12 10:53 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

Learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that the matter has been amicably resolved amongst the parties who have entered into a compromise and in fact a petition for quashing of FIR has already been filed in this Court, on the basis of compromise. 4.

Mr. Nonish Kumar, Advocate, has put in appearance on behalf of the complainant and has endorsed the factum of compromise. 5.

Although, the learned State counsel has opposed the petition, but has otherwise informed that the petitioner has been behind bars since the last about 2 1⁄2 years.

In view of the aforestated position wherein a compromise is stated to have been effected and the petitioner otherwise has been behind bars for a substantial period of 2 1⁄2 years, further detention of the petitioner will not serve any useful purpose.
