Today, at the very outset, learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that he restricts his prayer to issuance of a direction to respondents No.3 and 4 to consider and dispose of legal notice dated 1.5.2023 (Annexure P-13) in accordance with law particularly in view of the fact that the directions pertaining to stay of promotion of Junior Engineers on the Mechanical side, has been vacated by this Court vide order dated 17.11.2022 passed in CM11266-CWP-2019 in CWP-2682-2009 titled Puran Chand and others Versus State of Punjab and others (Annexure P-6).

Having regard to the restricted prayer made by learned counsel representing the petitioners, this Court does not feel the necessity of calling for any response of the respondents. The instant petition, as such, is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.3 - The Chief Engineer, Water Supply and Sanitation Department, Nabha Road, Patiala to consider the legal notice dated 1.5.2023 (Annexure P-13) and to dispose of the same by passing a speaking order.
