The petitioner seeks issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to release the arrears of revised pay scale, which are stated to be due from 1.12.2011 to 1.1.2022 alongwith interest @18% per annum. 2.
Learned counsel representing the petitioner submitted that the petitioner retired from service on 31.8.2006 as Patwari and subsequently vide letter dated 18.8.2021 (Annexure P-1) his grade pay has been revised w.e.f. 1.12.2011 but the arrears of revised benefits have been paid to him only w.e.f. 1.1.2022. It has been submitted that despite the said revision of grade pay w.e.f. 1.12.2011, his pension has not been revised accordingly. Learned counsel submits that the petitioner had submitted a representation dated 7.11.2022 (Annexure P-2) in this regard but to no avail. On asking of the Court, Mr. Inderpreet Singh Kang, AAG, Punjab, upon whom an advance copy of petition had already been served, accepts notice on behalf of the respondent-State.

Learned State counsel submitted that the said representation shall be considered in accordance with law, in case any such representation has been received to the authorities concerned and is still pending. 6.
In view of the aforesaid submission, the instant petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.1 to consider and dispose of the representation dated 7.11.2022 (Annexure P-2) in accordance with law expeditiously by passing a speaking order.
