HARINDER SINGH SIDHU, J The petitioners, who had performed marriage against the wishes of parents of petitioner No.1 filed Civil Writ Petition No.16615 of 2019, seeking protection of their life and liberty, which was disposed of with a direction to the respondents to decide their representation and take appropriate action, in accordance with law.

Alleging non-compliance of the direction, present petition has been filed.

A short reply by way of affidavit dated 04.12.2021 of Sh. Harvinder Singh Virk, SSP, Tarn Taran, District Tarn Taran has been filed wherein it is stated that initially the matter was marked to the D.S.P, Sub Division Khadur Sahib to look into the matter. He conducted a detailed inquiry. During the course of inquiry, he got recorded statements of the petitioners, who stated that they had performed marriage without the consent of their parents but now they do not apprehend any threat from any one and both of them are living as husband and wife happily and that they do not want to take any kind of protection from the local police. In paragraph 4 of the reply, it is stated that the petitioners thereafter filed CRWP No.8583 of 2020 stating that though they had filed representation dated 05.10.2020 to the Sr.

Supdt of Police, Tarn Taran seeking necessary protection but no action has been taken. That petition was disposed of vide order dated 19.10.2020 with a direction to the respondents to look into the grievance of the petitioner and take necessary action, in accordance with law. The S.S.P was further directed to convene a MANOJ KUMAR 2021.12.

COCP No.2608 of 2021 #2# meeting between the petitioners and the parents of petitioner No.1, if so required. It is further stated that in compliance of order dated 19.10.2020, the DSP, Khadur Sahib, District Tarn Taran was asked to look into the matter. During the course of inquiry, he got recorded statements of father of petitioner No.1, namely, Satnam Singh, brother of petitioner No.1-Balbir Singh, mother of petitioner No.1-Ranjit Kaur and Jarnail Singh, resident of Village Gill Warriach. All of them stated that both of them solemnized marriage without consent of their respective families. After their marriage, both of them had not come back to the village. Family members of petitioner No.1 stated that they have no objection to the marriage.

It is stated that local police tried their level best to locate the petitioners but they could not be found. Statement of father of petitioner No.2 has been recorded in which he stated that after the marriage, the petitioners have not come back to the village and are residing at some undisclosed place. Father of petitioner No.2 further stated that if at any time, security is needed in future, he will inform the police by visiting the police station.

In view thereof, no further cause of action survives in this petition and the same is disposed of as such.
