Through Video Conferencing JASGURPREET SINGH PURI , J. (Oral) This petition has been filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India with a prayer to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners at the hands of the private respondent Nos.4 to 7. The learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that both the petitioners are above the marriageable age and got married against the wishes of their family members and in support thereof, he has placed on record copies of their Aadhar Cards as Annexures P-1 and P-2, respectively as proof of their age as well as copy of their marriage certificate as Annexure P-4. He has further submitted that husband of petitioner No.2 had already died and it is her second marriage.
He has further submitted that the petitioners are apprehending threat to their life and liberty at the hands of private respondents and therefore, have filed the present petition for protection. He has further submitted that the petitioners have submitted a representation (Annexure P-5) dated 27.12.2020, in this regard, to the Senior VIRENDRA SINGH ADHIKARI 2021.01.

On asking of the Court, Mr. Harpreet Singh Multani, Assistant Advocate General, Punjab, who is present in the Court, accepts notice on behalf of respondent Nos.1 to 3.
This petition is disposed of with a direction to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Sangrur (Punjab), to look into the representation Annexure P-5 dated 27.12.2020 and ensure that no harm is caused to the petitioners.
