***** Prayer in the instant petition filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C. is for quashing of the FIR No.79 dated 09.05.2019 under Section 346 IPC registered at P.S. Punjab Agriculture University, District Police Commissionerate, Ludhiana along with all consequential proceedings therefrom on the basis of compromise entered into between the parties. Admittedly, the offence under Section 346 IPC i.e. for wrongful confinement, is cognizable, bailable and triable by a Magistrate of first Class, , but the same is compoundable under Section 320(1) CrPC. Thus, the aforesaid offence can be compounded before the Magistrate. Faced with this situation, counsel for the petitioner wishes to withdraw the present petition with liberty to seek compounding before the trial Court.
