Present writ petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution, inter alia, for directing respondents to release the family pension alongwith ancillary reliefs.

Learned counsel for petitioner submits that in view of averments made in para-8 of the affidavit dated 18.05.2022 of Vidhya Sagari RU, IFS, Divisional Forest Officer, Extension Patiala, District Patiala, the matter is stated to be pending with the Finance Department for the last nine (09) months.

In view of the above, but without going into merits of the controversy, this writ petition is disposed off with direction to Secretary, Finance Department, Punjab, for taking a final decision in the matter as per law, within six weeks from receipt of certified copy of this order, if there is no legal impediment.

Needless to say that in case there is a failure on the part of competent authority, petitioner would be at liberty to move an appropriate application for revival of this writ petition. 5.
