Three petitioners namely Gaurav Sharma, Gaurav Jaidka and Gurmej Singh were aspirants for appointment to the post of Assistant Corporation Engineer (Civil) in the cadre of Municipal Corporation pursuant to advertisement dated 1.7.2015 whereby 456 different posts consisting of different cadres were advertised including the post of Assistant Corporation Engineer(Civil). The selection comprised of determination of merit based on the result of written examination held by the Panjab University,Chandigarh from 7.11.2015 to 15.11.2015 for the different posts. The result was declared on 17.12.2015. However, subsequently on receipt of complaints qua leakage of question papers, a Vigilance enquiry was initiated, resulting into the eventual scrapping of the entire result.
Present petition has been filed seeking a direction for issuing appointment letters based on the result, which stands scrapped. At the time of hearing counsel for the petitioner very fairly RAJINDER PARSHAD JOSHI 2018.08.23 18:20 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document
CWP 7936/2018 concedes that the present writ petition has to be dismissed in the light of judgment dated 19.3.2018 passed by a Coordinate Bench in CWP 14623/2016 titled "Harpreet Singh and others v State of Punjab and others" alongwith a bunch of 31 other writ petitions.
