CWP-18975-2023 Petitioner has approached this Court praying for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondent authorities to take immediate and effective action on the representation of the petitioner, who incidentally is the Sarpanch of village Bujjianwali, Tehsil Batala, District Gurdaspur. It is also prayed that the civil suit, Annexure P-6, filed by her be ordered to be decided in a time bound manner. It has been contended by counsel for the petitioner that complaint/representation, Annexure P-5, was filed by the petitioner before respondent No.3, on 29.10.2021, but no decision has been taken on the same till date.

After hearing counsel for the parties and going through the facts and circumstances of the case, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.3, i.e. District Collector, District Gurdaspur, Punjab, to decide the complaint/representation, dated 29.10.2021, Annexure P-5, expeditiously in accordance with law preferably within one month from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.
