Ms. Amarjeet Kaur, Advocate for respondent No.4. ***** SANDEEP MOUDGIL, J.(ORAL) The jurisdiction of this Court has been invoked under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for directing the official respondents no. 1 to 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners from the hands of respondent nos.4 to 7.
Learned State counsel has submitted that a speaking order has already been passed in the representation dated 13.07.2025 by the authorities concerned and has produced the copy of the same, which is taken on record. He has furnished a copy of the order to counsel for the petitioners. The relevant thereof read thus:- "During enquiry, undersigned i.e. SHO, PS:Sadar Zira, District Ferozepur, under whose jurisdiction, complainants demanded protection along with his team visited village Behak Gujjran, Tehsil Zira, District Ferozepur i.e. present address given by the complainants in their complaint and both the complainants were not found present at the given address in the complaint. Kuldeep Singh son of Mehar Singh, who is uncle (chacha) of Parminder Singh met the police party and got his statement recorded before the Police and stated that after the marriage, Parminder Singh and his entire family members left the village and thereafter they did not returned. CRWP-7592-2025 -2- statement of Kuldeep Singh also identified by Harjinder Kaur Sarpanch of village Behak Gujjran, Tehsil Zira, District Ferozepur. However the undersigned directed said Kuldeep Singh to inform immediately to the Police of PS:Sadar, Zira, District Ferozepur as and when the complainants came back to the aforesaid address given in the complaint or if they would found any contact number of complainants. However in future, if the complainants approached the Police Department with the request to obtain any kind of protection through any written complaint or representation, then the same will be provided to them immediately, without any kind of delay. Further the patrolling party of the area of complainants, also directed by the undersigned to keep vigilant in view of the seriousness of the matter."
In light of the above, counsel for the petitioner does not wish to press this petition further.
The petitioners would be at liberty to file appeal, as is stipulated in the Standard Operating Procedure, in the light of notification No.HOMEHM-40 40SECM/14/2025-2H4/63 dated 23.01.2025 issued by the Department of Home Affairs, Punjab, Government of Punjab (Home-4 Branch), in case of any grievance left after passing of the speaking order. Petition stands dismissed as not pressed.
