This case has been taken up through video conferencing in the National Lok Adalat in the light of Covid-19 pandemic. The matter has been amicably settled between the parties. The insurance company has offered to pay Rs.7 lakhs over and above the amount awarded by the Tribunal in full and final settlement of claim in this appeal. This offer is acceptable to the appellant.

In view of this amicable settlement, the Insurance Company is directed to deposit cheque of Rs.7 lakhs, over and above the amount, so awarded by the Tribunal, before the Lok Adalat Branch of the High Court, within a period of four weeks, which shall be handed over to the appellant. In the eventuality of Insurance Company not depositing the cheque, in the given period, then Insurance Company shall be liable to pay penal interest @ 9% per annum from today onwards on the above stated amount.

Accordingly, the case stands disposed of.
