By virtue of instant petition preferred under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India, petitioners have sought issuance of a writ of mandamus, directing the respondents to pay interest @ 12% on account of delay in payment of retiral benefits and also pay the arrears of dearness allowance along with interest.

At the very outset of the arguments, learned counsel for the petitioners submits that though representation dated 25.02.2018 (Annexure P-7) was duly served upon the respondents but till date neither any response has been received nor any conscious decision has been taken. He further submits that petitioners feel satisfied in case direction is issued to respondents to decide aforesaid representation, within a stipulated period. Without expressing any opinion on merits of the case, instant petition is disposed of with a direction to respondents to look into the grievances unfolded by the petitioners in representation dated 25.02.2018 (Annexure P-7) and to decide the same in the light of judgment passed by this Court in CWP No.15306 of 2016 (O&M), titled as "Hari Ram and others v. Pepsu Road Transport Corporation, Nabha Road, Patiala", decided on 04.09.2017, within a period of three months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order. 4.
However, if the petitioners still feel aggrieved against the order passed by the concerned authority, they shall be at liberty to have recourse to the other remedies as well as to approach this Court.
