Mr. Kamalpreet Bawa, Advocate, for the appellant. Mr. L.S. Sidhu, Advocate, for the respondent. ***** RAJAN GUPTA , J. (Oral) Marriage between the appellant-husband and respondent-wife was solemnized in the year 1995. However, differences developed between them. Appellant-husband preferred a petition under Section 13 of the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955 (for short 'the Act') for dissolution of marriage. Same having been dismissed, present appeal was preferred. During the pendency of the appeal, this court explored the possibility of settlement of the matrimonial dispute.

Today, appellant-husband is present in court. Learned counsel for the appellant has sought instructions from him and apprised the court that three children from the marriage are with the husband and he is bringing them up. He can pay an amount of Rs.5 lacs as permanent alimony to the respondent-wife within a period of three months. Learned counsel for the respondent-wife submits that he has SUKHPREET KAUR 2019.11.15 10:58 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document instructions to say that this amount is acceptable to the respondent.

In view of the above, present appeal is hereby disposed of. Appellant has filed an affidavit in the aforesaid terms today. Parties shall be at liberty to present a petition under Section 13-B of the Act before the appropriate Forum at the earliest. They shall be at liberty to seek waiver of the statutory period of six months in view of judgment of the apex court reported as 'Amardeep Singh versus Harveen Kaur, 2017 (3) SCC (Cri) 505'.
