Present revision petition has been filed under Article 227 of the Constitution of India challenging the order dated 16.07.2024 whereby the application under Order VI Rule 17 of the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908 for amendment of the plaint has been allowed.

Learned counsel for the petitioner would contend that allowing the amendment would cause irreparable loss to the defendant-petitioner and would amount to a de novo trial.

In the present case the only amendment that was sought by way of the application under Order VI Rule 17 CPC was for mentioning the correct account number of the electric motor i.e. manual number and the computerized number as the one mentioned in the plaint earlier was a wrong number. By way of the impugned order the said amendment has been allowed. The amendment is only formal in nature. In view of the above, I do not find any merit in the present revision petition and the same is accordingly dismissed. Pending applications, if any, also stand disposed off.
