This is a petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a writ in the nature of Habeas Corpus directing the official respondents to locate, trace and produce the detenue 'Seema' whose whereabouts are neither known nor the private respondents, i.e. in-laws family are giving/providing correct information regarding the detenue, who is the daughter of the petitioner.

Notice of motion was issued and the State was directed to file a status report.

Learned counsel for the respondent-State, on instructions from SI Baldev Singh, has submitted that the alleged detenue 'Seema' has since been found residing with one Jagandeep Singh son of Nirmal Singh, resident of Village Bangowani, Police Station Ghuman Kalan, District Gurdaspur. In view of the above, this petition is dismissed. 4.

However, it is clarified that this order shall not be taken as any condonation of conduct of the alleged detenue 'Seema', if she is found involved in any other offence, as such.
