(ORAL) On the last date of hearing, following order was passed:- "The instant petition was filed way back on 23.08.2023, wherein the petitioner had sought issuance of directions to the official respondents to protect his as well as the life and liberty of his family as the private respondents have been extending threats of dire consequences to him. A perusal of all the previous orders reveal that after 03.10.2023, none has appeared on behalf of the petitioner.

Learned State counsel, while drawing the attention of this Court to the reply filed, has submitted that a thorough inquiry was carried out by the official respondents with respect to the alleged threat perception, however, no substance was found in the allegations levelled in the representations sent to the police; in fact, there is a history of civil litigation between the parties. It has been further submitted by the learned counsel that all the representations and complaints, after being thoroughly inquired into, have been consigned to the Record Room on 06.01.2024.
