CRM-37907-2022 Allowed as prayed for and copy of demand draft No.000630 dated 29.09.2022 amounting to `10,00,000/- is ordered to the taken on record as Annexure A-1.

Main Case The petitioner has filed the present petition challenging the judgment dated 03.08.2019 passed by Judicial Magistrate Ist Class, Ludhiana whereby the petitioner was convicted and sentenced to RI for a period of 2 years and awarded compensation to the tune of `60,38,204/- under Section 138 of Negotiable Instruments Act and judgment dated GAURAV SOROT 2023.01.13 12:57 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order, judgment and documents.

( 2 ) CRR-2040-2022 (O&M) 09.01.2020 whereby the appeal filed by the petitioner against the aforesaid judgment and order of sentence was dismissed by the Court of Additional Sessions Judge, Ludhaina.

Still being aggrieved, the petitioner has filed the present criminal revision petition.

Today the counsel for the petitioner placed on record demand draft No.000630 dated 29.09.2022 amounting to `10,00,000/- (Annexure A1) and compromise deed (Annexure P-1) has already been placed on file, as per which, the parties have effected compromise and Mr. Kunal Garg, Advocate for Mr. A.S. Gulati, Advocate, who has appeared on behalf of respondent No.1 also admitted the factum of compromise and further stated that respondent No.1 is having no objection if the offence is compounded. Thus, it is clear that the parties have settled their dispute by way of compromise and accordingly, permission is hereby granted to the parties to compound the offence punishable under Section 138 of Negotiable Instruments Act.

Consequently, the present revision petition is allowed and impugned judgments and orders passed by the Courts below are set aside and the petitioner stands acquitted.
