Mr. Kuljit Singh Bal, Advocate for the petitioner.

MANJARI NEHRU KAUL , J. (ORAL) Petitioner is seeking issuance of directions to the official respondents to protect his life and liberty as the private respondents, who had been extending threats of dire consequences and pressurizing the complainant to effect a compromise with them. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the said threats are being continuously extended particularly after this Court dismissed their anticipatory bail vide order dated 18.08.2023 passed in CRM-M-40403-2023. Resultantly, a representation dated 22.08.2023 (Annexure P-4) was also made to respondent No.3-Senior Superintendent of Police, Amritsar Rural, for protection of his life and liberty but in vain. Learned counsel submits that he would be satisfied if directions are issued to respondent No.3-Senior Superintendent of Police, Amritsar Rural, to look into his representation (Annexure P-4) and take appropriate steps at the earliest.

In view of the above, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.3-Senior Superintendent of Police, Amritsar Rural, to look into the representation dated 22.08.2023 (Annexure P-4) qua the alleged threat perception and take necessary steps at the earliest, as may be required, in accordance with law, to ensure that the life and liberty of the petitioner is not jeopardized at the hands of the private respondents.
