At the outset, learned State counsel, on instructions from ASI Jarnail Singh, has opposed the prayer made by the counsel for the petitioner for quashing of the FIR on the basis of compromise in the wake of the petitioner being a proclaimed offender.

In the circumstances, learned counsel for the petitioner does not press the instant petition at this stage.
