The prayer in the present petition filed under Section 226 of the Constitution of India is for issuance of directions to official respondents No. 2 to 4 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner at the hands of the private respondent No. 5-Paramjit Singh, on the basis of representation dated 31.07.2024 (Annexure P-4).

Learned counsel for the State, on instructions from SI Balwinder Singh, has informed that another representation dated 08.07.2024 (Annexure P-3) was also moved to the Superintendent of Police. The FIR has been registered and Paramjit Singh (respondent No. 5) has joined the investigation. She, further, on instructions, submits that the representation dated 31.07.2024 (Annexure P-4) is however, still pending. 3.

Without making any comment on the actual merits of the case, the official respondent No. 3, i.e. the Senior Superintendent of Police, S.A.S. Nagar, Mohali, is directed to decide the representation dated 31.07.2024 (Annexure P-4) within a period of 02 months after receiving the certified copy of this order.
